News from the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), according to statistics from the US International Trade Commission, the US's imports of processed fruit and vegetables (HS code 20) in the 2016-2020 period will have an average growth of 3.7%/year.

Additionally, Vietnam is currently the number 1 supplier of cashew nuts for the German market and the largest supplier of coffee for the Russian market (by volume).

In spite of the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, the United States’ imports of processed fruit and vegetables from Vietnam in 2020 reached $8.6 billion, up by 1.8% compared to 2019 and the first nine months of 2021, this figure has increased to 7.4 billion USD (up by more than 17% over the same period in 2020). According to the Import-Export Department, within the first nine months of 2021, the United States imported 171.9 million USD of vegetables and fruits, up by 49.9% over the same period of 2020. In which, the proportion of imports from Vietnam accounted for 2.3% of the total import value. Vietnam is currently the 11th largest supplier of processed fruits and vegetables to the United States.

            In addition to processed vegetables, another typical agricultural product of Vietnam is cashew nut. Vietnam is currently the number 1 supplier of cashew nuts for the German market thanks to its stable output and guaranteed quality.

            Vietnam is also the largest supplier of coffee for the Russian market (by volume). According to the Federal Customs Service of Russia, in the first nine months of 2021, Russia's coffee imports reached over 182,000 tons, worth 565.74 million USD, up by 6.4% in volume and 20.6% in value compared to same period in 2020.

            Not only were names established on the map of exporting agricultural products, Vietnam is also an attractive destination for cooperation in the export of agricultural products. Notably, Singapore wants to cooperate with Vietnam in the production of agricultural products and processed foods.
